"Art is not confined to the boundaries of paper, canvas, or clay. It is a force that permeates through the very fabric of nature - in the air we breathe, the softness of snow, the beauty of flowers, and the hum of bees. As artists, we have the power to channel this force, capture its essence, and share it with the world through our creations. So let us keep our hearts open, our minds receptive, and let the beauty of the world around us inspire us to create art that moves and touches the soul."
Monet Bourbour
Monet Bourbour is a professional watercolor artist based in Los Angeles, California. Her passion for art began during her childhood in Tehran, Iran, where she would spend her time drawing animated cartoons and motion animations. In high school, Monet's artistic abilities were recognized by her peers and teachers, leading her to realize that art was more than just a hobby for her.
To further her artistic skills, Monet attended drawing and life drawing classes outside of school. She went on to pursue art academically and obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Alzahra in Tehran. During her studies, Monet delved into both Western and Persian art, including Persian Miniature drawing and Tazhib, which is used for the illumination of manuscripts. These techniques, dating back to the 15th century in the Middle East, require meticulous attention to detail, the use of thin brushes, and natural pigments or gold.
Under the guidance of master artist Bagheri, renowned for his expertise in Persian art techniques, Monet honed her skills in Persian Miniature drawing and Tazhib. She also explored other art forms such as ceramic design, fresco and mural painting, and the design of rug patterns and motifs.
During her artistic journey, Monet discovered her fascination with watercolor and sought further training. She had the opportunity to study watercolor with Master Jamal Khorrami Nejad, a prominent Persian watercolor artist and Persian Miniature artist in Iran. Monet dedicated years to mastering the intricacies of watercolor under his guidance.
Monet's artistic talents did not go unnoticed, and she began collaborating with various galleries in Tehran, including Niyavaran Cultural Center, and Iran International Art Show. Her artworks have also been featured in books such as Manifestation of Feeling, showcasing the quality and appeal of her watercolor pieces. Monet's reputation as an artist grew, leading to commissioned works for clients in Germany and the United States.
Upon relocating to Los Angeles, Monet found herself drawn to creating illustrations in addition to her watercolor works. She also explores other mediums such as colored pencil and oil painting, but watercolor remains particularly special to her.
Monet is delighted to share her love for watercolor and art through her website, where visitors can appreciate and acquire her beautiful creations.
